How Chocola Feeds uses instagram_business_basic

Chocola Feeds is a multi-tenant Instagram media feed hub operated by Abraham González Madrid, trading as Chocola Studio. Client websites display recent posts from an Instagram Professional account after the account holder grants access.

Permission requested

We request only instagram_business_basic to read the authorized account’s username and recent media. We do not publish content, manage comments, or send messages.

This is not a server-to-server app

Chocola Feeds is not a server-to-server integration and does not use a system user token for this permission. Every connection uses the Instagram Login (Meta) frontend OAuth flow. The screencast shows that flow from a logged-out Instagram session through the Allow screen.

End-to-end use case

  1. An authorized operator signs in to the Chocola Feeds admin panel (app login, not Meta).
  2. They open a client site and click Continue with Instagram.
  3. Instagram Login asks the Professional account holder to grant instagram_business_basic.
  4. After Allow, we exchange the code for a long-lived token, call Graph /me and /{user-id}/media, and cache images on our servers.
  5. The same media is shown in the admin preview, the public JSON feed GET /v1/feed/{site_key}, and the client-website preview.

How to test

  1. Open https://feeds.chocolastudio.com/?lang=en so the UI is in English.
  2. Sign in at /admin/login with the test credentials provided in the App Review submission notes.
  3. Open a site that is not connected (or Disconnect first) and click Continue with Instagram.
  4. Complete Instagram Login and tap Allow for instagram_business_basic.
  5. Confirm the username and media thumbnails appear, then open the public JSON feed and the client-website preview.
